Mass and Community Building
On Sunday, the Georgia Tech Catholic Center welcomed back the student body to start the fall semester! Students, new and old, packed the chapel for our four Sunday Masses. Father Joshua Allen welcomed back his flock and imparted words of counsel and wisdom, particularly for students new to the Catholic Center and new to Georgia Tech. The leadership of the Catholic Student Organization spoke at each Mass, introducing students to the Catholic Center and announcing the roll-out of the Catholic Center’s new smartphone app. Each Mass was followed by delicious food and community-building.

Musician Patrick Williams provided inspirational music and songs. It was a fruitful night for the Catholic soul. S'mores were also served after the event, as an opportunity for students to pause and recollect that night - infusing community building with spiritual growth.

Piedmont Park/James of Mosaics
The students of the Catholic Center set off in the morning for some fun in the sun at Piedmont Park. Later that Saturday, the warm glow of the patio’s ambient lighting set the mood for Music and Mocktails Night, featuring artist and 4th year architecture student, James Morse. James gave a 2-hour long concert, performing a mix of popular covers and songs from his new album, The Desert.

The End of an Era for our A/C System
The 31 year old air conditioning system in the GTCC Chapel is once again down. We may be able to resurrect it one last time, but its demise is imminent. Fr. Josh continues to celebrate Mass despite the heat. Funding for a new A/C system would be over and above our Operational budget. If you feel called to support its replacement and bring relief to the flock in the newly dubbed ‘Burning Furnace of Charity’ Chapel, we would be deeply grateful.
Donations can be made here by selecting Burning Furnace of Charity Fund. Thank you and God bless!
