Faith Formation

Who We Are

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
Classes are on Sundays at 1:00 PM in the CC lobby.

Help us in building up the Body of Christ at the Catholic Center! RCIA is a key program in spreading the Kingdom of God here on Georgia Tech’s campus. If you are interested in receiving the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation) or becoming a sponsor, please email RCIA@gtcatholic.org at any time!

THEOLOGY OF THE BODY (TOB)
Join us once a month in the CC lobby (see calendar for details)

Too often Catholic sexual ethics are reduced to a mere list of things we can’t do. But is this fullness of the Gospel? St. John Paul II had a vision of the human person that involved a fundamental ‘Yes’ to the body. The astonishing truth is this: God has stamped his eternal plan for union with us into our very bodies and, in a particular way, in the call for “two to become one flesh” (see Eph 5:31).  Joey Martineck, Director of Respect Life Ministry for the Archdiocese of Atlanta, leads us into a deeper understanding of the Theology of the Body.

RENEW
Every other Thursday at 7:30 PM

Renew is a night of Eucharistic adoration, confession, and praise & worship  Come adore our Lord, hear student testimonies, share in fellowship, and begin again! All are welcomed.

RETREATS
Fall Community Retreat usually held in September.

One or two retreats are offered every term for students to come grow in intimacy with the Lord, share in communion with each other, and rest well. We encourage all students to set aside this time each semester to center our lives towards what is meaningful and true!

FOCUS Bible Studies
Varied dates and times

The Catholic Center offers men’s and women’s Bible studies with varied days and times to meet the needs of student schedules.  Please contact FOCUS@gtcatholic.org if interested in joining a bible study at the Catholic Center!

Faith as Life
Every other Thursday @ 7:30p

Faith as Life is a series of presentations and talks at the GTCC.  The goal of these talks is to share how a piece of our Catholic faith can be lived beautifully in daily life.  Past examples of Faith as Life topics have been the stars, poetry, cooking, music, architecture and even things like career panels and mini concerts.  These events show us that the Catholic Faith is not merely a moral code or an abstract explanation of existence but is something real and tangible that can be lived each day by noticing the beauty of life and the joy of relationship.
